Berlin, Germany 2014
Lojong, or mind training, is a core practice in Tibetan Buddhism. Dzongzar Khyentse Rinpoche gave teachings on lojong in Berlin, on 12 April 2014. Rinpoche bases these teachings on a lojong text by Shechen Gyaltsab Rinpoche. In the first two sessions he explains why we should train our minds, and what our view and motivation should be towards mind-training. Our minds need different methods of mind training, from the simple and direct to the elaborated and ritualistic. The final two sessions introduce a range of mind-training techniques, as well as daily life activities we can perform to develop a strong motivation to benefit beings. Practicing lojong enables us to break through our habits and addictions, develop a sense of renunciation, and move towards the ultimate goal of mind-training: liberation.
