Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche's Statement Regarding H.H. Karmapa's Visit:
"The announcement that His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, will visit North America for the first time this May is news of great magnitude. His Holiness is as an immediate reincarnation of the 16th Karmapa Rigpa Dorje, from whom I have had the good fortune to receive numerous teachings, and who is, therefore, one of my principal gurus. We should remember that the 16th Karmapa was the very personification of blessings. We can clearly see that the present incarnation is possessed of that same aura. Although his inaugural visit will be brief, it is a seminal occasion during which I encourage all of my friends to attend his teachings or generate a connection to His Holiness in whatever way they wish".
