DALAI LAMA TO VISIT AUSTRALIA IN 2001

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is to make his fourth visit to Australia next April. On 3 and 4 April 2001 His Holiness will participate in a forum of Nobel Peace Prize laureates to be held in Tasmania. He will then spend five days in Melbourne. His Holiness will be teaching on "The Bodhisattva's Way of Life" on the mornings of Saturday 7 April, Sunday 8 April and Monday 9 April. On Tuesday 10 April there will be a one-day Chenrezig initiation. Those who wish to do so will be able to take this as a formal initiation. However, it will be possible to participate in the initiation ceremony without taking on the vows and commitments, regarding it as a blessing from Chenrezig.

All these events will be held at the Myer Music Bowl, Melbourne's premier outdoor performance venue. His Holiness will also give a public talk on Sunday afternoon, 8 April. For further information visit the website at www.dalailama.org.au. You can also register your interest in the visit by ringing 03 9663 2953.

During his stay he will teach at Vajradhara Gonpa from 15 to 17 September. His teaching, entitled "Perfect at the Beginning, Middle and End", will be based on a text by Patrul Rinpoche. For further details please phone the gonpa on 02 6633 1382 or e-mail vajgonpa@nor.com.au.

E-DHARMA.NET

E-Dharma.net is a project that will allow Buddhist teachers to use the Internet to give regular teachings in ways with considerable advantages over current electronic methods. Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche feels this proposal has great potential and has agreed to provide teachings for the pilot series. If you're interested, please click on http://www.midcoast.com.au/~sabell to read our description of E-Dharma.net and respond to the attached survey. With this information we can design the delivery of the teachings to suit students' preferences. Thank you.
