11th November, 2010: Introductory Talk • 6.30 - 8pm
Vivid Luminous Space
In discovering awakening, the Buddha addressed the mechanisms and the painful consequences of the mind that ignores. His inspiration was the transparency of the constructions of our worlds and the immediacy and presence of our innate wisdom. His teaching on the Middle Way and Buddha Nature provides some radical perspectives that are supremely empowering in their thrust towards creativity and human happiness.

12th November, 2010: Media Show • 7 - 8.30pm
Wisdom and Love: The Khyentse Lineage

Over the last 25 years Australians have been taught Buddhism by numerous great masters. One of them is Dzongsar Jamyang Khyentse Rinpoche, who since a young age has inspired thousands of people with his teachings, work, and by his example. His unique, original and irreverent style has eliminated many of the cultural barriers that often occur when Buddhism is transplanted.

This freedom from confinement has characterised numerous previous and contemporary Khyentse incarnations. While the great master Khamtrul Döngyü Nyima (1931-1980) would say that there are "millions of Khyentse incarnations", this talk will focus on the major ones who provided the backbone of many Tibetan lineages and who continue to inspire us today.
We will join this celebration of numerous life stories with the practice of Guru Yoga.

13th-14th November, 2010: Workshop • 10am - 4pm

Madhayamaka & Buddha Nature
The Buddhist perspective is based on a conversation between negation and affirmation. On the one hand the Buddha taught the value of doubting the confused constructions of our habitual mind and on the other he pointed to the value of trusting our innate disposition of wisdom. The Mādhyamaka teaching of understanding the workings of our constructions serves as a foundation to breaking through to the realization of our innate buddha-nature. This workshop will be a discussion of these essential themes that are the foundations of the Buddhist view.
