Setting

Sea to Sky Retreat Centre is a place for quiet contemplation in all seasons. In spring, summer, and fall, our woodlands of Douglas fir, western red cedar, western hemlock, birch, alder, and cottonwood give way to bright displays of wildflowers in meadows and along roadsides. In winter, the warmth of the woodstove indoors is a counterpoint to the serene beauty of snowy landscapes.

The only developed property on Daisy Lake, the Retreat Centre is completely surrounded by Garibaldi Provincial Park and other undeveloped public lands. Over 2 km of private-entry road further ensures peace and seclusion.

The Retreat Centre has easy access to mountain hiking and backpacking trailheads to Black Tusk and Garibaldi Lake.

The Facilities

The main lodge contains the primary kitchen and dining room as well as the laundry facilities. The lodge can accommodate groups of up to 20 people in shared accommodations of three bunk rooms, an open loft, and three complete bathrooms. The lodge features an extensive library that specializes in contemplative literature, and also includes nature, travel, and fiction titles.

The retreat house has a smaller but complete kitchen, two-and-a-half bathrooms, and five bedrooms, which can house five people in private rooms or up to ten people in shared accommodation.

For individuals and for members of larger groups, SSRC also has the following accommodations:

Two self-contained cabins have kitchens and bathrooms for one or two people each.

Mid-level has two large rooms and one small room for three to five people, with an outhouse and running water nearby.

Three bungalows with lofts can house one or two persons each. They are near the main lodge and use its facilities.

Integrated into a secluded natural setting, the Pavilion, an elegant 700-square-foot hexagonal facility, can host a variety of group programs and special-purpose activities. A centred fireplace can be put into place for programs requiring fire puja.  There is also a tent extension that can be added to one side of the Pavilion for large groups that require tent accommodation in the summer.

Contemplative walks and scenic resting areas complement our facilities.
The Retreat Centre office and staff accommodations are located separately from the program space. All buildings are fully winterized and heated by wood stove or propane furnace for year-round comfort.

Depending on seasonal demands, the Centre is supported by a staff of three to six.

Three nutritious vegetarian meals are provided daily.

Cellular phone service is available (surcharge applied); however, telephone usage by retreatants is discouraged except in case of emergency.
