Sangdha Gyepay Ling, Bartsam, Buthan

The village of Bartsam is located in eastern Bhutan. Sangdha Gyepay Ling, also known as Chador Lhakang, was started by the great yogi Lama Pema Wangchen, who was a master and practitioner of the Dudjom Tersar lineage.  Therefore the centre is connected with Dudjom Tersar.

Lama Pema Wangchen requested Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche to be the guiding teacher of the Bartsam community and the director of the centre. After Lama Pema Wangchen passed away, Lama Nyinkhu-la (Kunzang Wangdi) took over the duties of overseeing the centre and its actives.

Presently over 70 gomchen (lay practitioners) are associated with Sangdha Gyepay Ling. Of these, some are young students and others are seniors who are doing retreats in various parts of the country. Along with their studies, the students also perform an annual Dudjom Vajrakilaya drupchen.
