SEA TO SKY RETREAT CENTRE HAS OPENINGS FOR THE FOLLOWING VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:
1. Cook.
Live-in position. Experience with vegetarian cooking preferred. Help is needed for a minimum of 3 months, beginning in March 2006. Potential to become long term position.
2. Kitchen helper and housekeeper.
Live-in position. Assistance to the main cook and responsible for house keeping duties of the centre.
Help is needed for minimum of 1 month, beginning in March 2006.
3. Facilities maintenance helper.
Live-in position. Able-bodied individual to assist in various building tasks, including site work, carpentry and painting. Experience is helpful; but not necessary. This position is currently available. A commitment for at least 1 month is necessary. Room and board, monthly allowance and personal retreat time are offered. Canadian work status required.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens, landed immigrants
or otherwise legally authorized to work in Canada.
Room and board, small monthly
allowance and personal retreat time are offered to volunteer staff (see two views of the staff housing at SSRC on this page). Staff have one day off each week. Positions include access to SSRC teaching programmmes.
SSRC,
a non-profit Buddhist retreat centre under the direction of Dzongsar Khyentse
Rinpoche, is focused on providing a supportive environment for
meditation practitioners. We're located in British Columbia, Canada, midway
between Squamish and Whistler. The Retreat Centre occupies 40 acres of
secluded forest land on the shoreline of Daisy Lake and bordering Garibaldi
