The University of San Francisco is located about 3 miles from downtown San Francisco or Union Square. Lone Mountain Conference Center is situated on top of a small hill accessed from a circular one-way driveway on Turk Boulevard near the corner of Parker Avenue.



Transportation Information

By Bart: Get down at downtown San Francisco Powell Street or Civic Center stations, transfer to MUNI bus (see below).

By Bus: The following San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI) bus lines run close to the University: 5 Fulton (2-3 blocks away), 21 Hayes, 31 Balboa (stops at the bottom of the Lone Mt. Campus driveway on Turk Blvd. near Parker Ave.), 38 Geary (2-3 blocks away) and 43 Masonic (3 blocks away). Fare: $1.00 ($.35 for those over 65). Transfers can be used in any direction.

From San Francisco International Airport: Take the Supershuttle from outside the Airport departure level curbside directly to University of San Francisco. Tell the driver you are going to the University of San Francisco--Lone Mt. Conference Center on Turk Blvd. near the corner of Parker Ave., and drive up the driveway to the top of the hill. The cost is $12.00 and guarantees no more than 3 stops. Call (415) 558-8500 one day in advance to reserve your ride back to SFO Airport.

From the Bay Bridge and Highway 80/580 West: Choice 1 - Surface Streets: After crossing the Bay Bridge, take the Ninth Street/Civic Center exit, which exits onto Harrison Street. Proceed west bound on Harrison 1 block, and turn right onto Ninth Street. Continue along Ninth Street staying in the 2 right lanes, cross Market Street onto Larkin Street. Go 4 blocks, make a left turn on Turk Street and continue west bound for approximately 2 miles. As you approach USF, you will notice the Lone Mountain Campus on your right hand side on top of a small hill, up a one-way driveway before you reach the corner at Parker Avenue. Choice 2 - Central Freeway: After crossing the Bay Bridge, follow the signs for Mission Street / Fell Street exit on the right, and take the Fell / Laguna Street exit which ends at a stop light. Stay on Fell Street for 1 mile, make a right turn on Masonic Avenue. Go 6 blocks and turn left on Turk Boulevard, the USF Lone Mountain campus will be on your right side before the corner of Parker Avenue.

From Golden Gate Bridge/Highway 101 South: After crossing the Bridge, stay in the right lane and take the 19th Ave. (or Hwy. 1 South) exit. Drive through the tunnel to Park Presidio. Turn right on Cabrillo Street, go 1 short block, turn right onto 14th Ave. Go 1 block to Balboa Street and make a right turn, heading east bound approximately 1 mile (Balboa turns into Turk Blvd. at Arguello). After you cross Parker Ave., USF Lone Mountain Campus is on your left on top of a small hill.

From Highway 101 North: As you approach downtown San Francisco, stay in the 2 left lanes, follow signs for Mission Street / Fell Street exit on the left, and take the Fell / Laguna Street exit which ends at a stop light. Stay on Fell Street for 1 mile, make a right turn on Masonic Ave. Go 6 blocks and turn left on Turk Blvd., the USF Lone Mountain campus will be on your right side before the corner of Parker Ave.

Parking Information

Prepaid purchase of a USF campus parking permit in a designated reserved lot can be arranged when you pre-register for the teaching. Cost is $5.00 for Friday night, $5.00 for Saturday, and Sunday is free parking. Parking permits will be mailed to you with your registration tickets. Limited street parking is available, however, please do not park where USF parking permits are required - Campus police will ticket you for $35.00.

Siddhartha's Intent discounted group rate is available at the following two hotels where a limited number of rooms have been 'blocked' for us, and which will be released by April 5. Please mention 'Siddhartha's Intent Room Block' when booking to ensure the discounted rate. Each guest will make their own reservations and credit arrangements, and will be responsible for his/her own charges including room, tax, restaurant charges, other incidental room charges, including parking where applicable. SI-WD regrets we cannot match persons who would like to share a room. Please note that both these inns are always fully booked on weekends, especially in late April during the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown.

Tel: 415 567-8467 or 800 552-8735; Fax: 415 928-1866 A newly renovated inn at the corner of Presidio and California, you can walk 15-20 minutes or take the #43 Masonic bus opposite the front door to within 2-3 blocks of the USF Lone Mountain campus. There are several restaurants nearby. Room rates are 10% off the regular rate of $129, $139 and $149 for single or double occupancy, with continental breakfast and parking included; taxes are not included. Each additional person or rollaway bed is $10 extra. The king-bedded rooms have a sofa bed.

Best Western Miyako Inn: 1800 Sutter Street at Buchannan, San Francisco, CA 94115. Tel: 415 921-4000 or 800 528-1234; Fax: 415 923-1064. Located in the heart of Japantown with restaurants and shops galore, this inn offers spacious rooms and convenience. One block to #38 Geary bus-stop will bring you to within 3 blocks of the USF Lone Mountain Campus. Group rate is $89 single; $99 double occupancy; $10 extra for each additional person or rollaway bed; taxes are not included. Limited parking in building garage is $10 per night when available.
