Initiation and Teachings on
The Practice of Mañjushri
the first in a series of annual teachings on
The Deities of the Kadampaswith Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche
According to the Mahayana, bodhisattva Manjushri was one of the Buddhas principal students, and requested many of the teachings which the Buddha gave. According to Vajrayana, Manjushri is the wisdom aspect of our minds inherent clarity, and to invoke and accomplish Manjushri brings the relative benefit of increasing the sharpness of intelligence and, ultimately, of accomplishing enlightenment.
This particular sadhana practice of Jampel Marser, Orange Manjushri, was written by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, the first Khyentse (1821-1894), based on the classical texts of invoking this aspect of Manjushri.
